El Corte Inglés increases its sustainable toy offer
What: The department store opens 70 toy shop-in-shops offering 400 sustainable toys, including more than 100 from its private label.
Why is it important: The retailer develops a 360° responsible policy with toys, by proposing a sustainable offer and by giving used toys a second life.
In particular, stuffed animals’ filling is made of plastic recovered from the sea, wooden toys are certified with the FSC seal, made with recycled cardboard, bioplastic or recycled cellulose, and even with fabric developed from fishing nets rescued from the sea. The company has also developed a sustainable packaging for its sustainable toys.
El Corte Inglés also collaborates with the Crecer Jugar Foundation for the Share and Recycle initiative, facilitating the process of donating toys and aiming to give them a new life.
